This little restaurant has been here 32 years. Our server was so pleasant and helpful! Seems like an authentic Chinese restaurant. It's a gentle, spa feel. Is there a retirement home nearby? Pasta is made in-house and they have a Korean menu. Chinese Tsing Tao beer is excellent! Korean Spare Ribs were flavorful, but meat was tough. Fried rice was bland; no vegetables, just rice and soy sauce. General Cho's Chicken was super lightly breaded with large chucks of what "appeared to be white chicken" (haha, read other review). Steamed dumplings were the highlight of the meal. It paired with a perfect sweet soy sauce for dipping

you would never know from the looks of it, but this place is a gem. i've been coming here for years with my father and ordering your traditional chinese dishes such as general tso's, sesame chicken, etc. the place is packed with seniors looking for early bird specials. however, at the same time there are large tables near the back packed with chinese and korean people. and they always eat different stuff. on a visit about two years ago, i asked the waitress what the man with red broth dripping down his elbows was eating out of the large soup bowl the size of my torso. she replied "oh that's korean, you want to try? its very good." i said 'of course' and minutes later came out the 'jum-bon noodle soup for two.' its amazing, don't even think about sharing it with someone else. enjoy it all to yourself. it's filled with perfectly cooked noodles, veggies and cabbage, strips of thin beef, and topped with pieces of calamari and shrimp, all swimming in a spicy red broth. its easily enough of a meal to keep you satisfied for the entire day. this is the only thing i order now when i come here.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. So far have just ordered items off the "K" menu, but so far the food has been pretty good and fairly authentic tasting. (Probably can't say the same for the main menu though) Non-rude wait staff is refreshing compared to all the other Chinese restaurants in the area. From the wait staff, apparently this restaurant used to be partly owned by a Korean. hence the "K" menu (all the order #s in this menu have a K prefix) - the "Peking Ribs" are for the most part Korean BBQ style/ Kalbi ribs - which are waaaay better :-D. the sweet kimchi they bring out when you sit down is also nice. Didn't give them 5 stars because the "K" menu is rather small, but I have been going back at least 2x a month.

I always get the impression that they're used to catering to locals who must not know any better. There isn't any care and most of the dishes end up sitting in the same few sauces. MSG.

I went last night and forgot to write an update! I went here again and I got the tza chang mein and it was delicious! The black bean sauce with beef and onions were absolutely wonderful and so were the noodles! I got the order very quickly and I again got the very same kind and helpful waitress as last time! Consistently good! It tasted exactly like the ja jjang myeon (Korean name for tza chang mein) I had in Chinese restaurants in Korea!

My family and I found this place very nice. It was clean, good food and service. I would definitely come back if I'm ever back in town.

What a hidden gem! Right near my office. Home made noodles. Really great hot and sour soup and 20 some lunch specials under $8 and it includes a drink. Not to be missed!

As good as it gets here in this part of town. Been here a half dozen times. It's clean and the food doesn't taste greasy. i usually get chicken and broccoli and it tastes fresh. Haven't had much else except for the fried rice and that was tasty too. It's my go to Chinese for take out now.

Good stuff, ended up here once we discovered the Sport's Bar around the corner had closed. I love Chinese food, and lunch is the perfect time to partake, because no matter what I eat I'll be hungry by dinner time. The Sweet and Sour soup was typical but the General Tso's chicken was top notch. Lightly breaded, if there was any breading at all. It appeared to be all white meat and the sauce was perfect, I'll be back.

Was looking for any restaurant at 3:30pm...in starvation mode on I-95. Stumbled on this place, (not being from around here) and ordered an early-bird special. Best hot & sour soup I've tasted. Service was friendly & attentive but not suffocating. Excellent meal, served fresh & hot for a terrific price. Place has been in biz for 35 years. I can see why.

My dad and his aide ate there this evening. There was something horribly wrong with the food, very undercooked, etc. The manager refused to do anything about it. Tonight's visit more than offset a few previous positive visits. No one in my family will be eating there again.

All chicken here is only white meat. This is very important for those of us that can't stand the taste of dark meat. I've eaten in and had delivery with Wanfu, both times, I've been impressed with the freshness of their food and taste. For Chinese delivery, it's the best in its class for the area that I've had.

Came during the lunch special time. Monday thru Saturday until 3. Has good prices. Soup is nothing special, egg roll was pretty good actually. Had the boneless spared ribs, again, nothing special. The hostess was sweet and nice, but the waiter was very rude and tried rushing me for everything. Didn't appreciate the fact that she had no time to attend me. It wasn't even busy, so I'm sure she was just being rude. Atmosphere is very calm and mellow, not a loud place. I gave it 3 stars because food is average, nothing special. Also didn't like the fact that the waiter was rude. If you like cheap Chinese food, then definitely take the opportunity to get the lunch special. I would only suggest take it for take out

I think giving this 3 stars is generous. I think WANFU in english means Mall Food Court. Nothing special here, the food didn't taste fresh and the food was very bland. Even the dishes that were supposed to be spicy were lacking.

Delicious and plentiful! The general chow chicken was very good, all white meat and very lightly breaded. We thought the soups were excellent and we will look forward to coming back. Wonderful service too!

My favorite Chinese food. It's always fresh and perfectly seasoned. I have been ordering from there since I could remember.. I don't think I've ever really dined in though. Best Chinese food in Pompano!

I can honestly say that Chinese food has not always been my favorite food because I was always unsure of what type of "chicken" or "beef" I was eating. On the other hand, my boyfriend could eat Chinese everyday, so one Sunday night I decided to compromise and I was reading several reviews of the local Chinese spots; I decided to take a shot in the dark and go with this place. Let's just say that since I started eating here, I never question the realness of the chicken, because as soon as I bite into the sesame chicken, I immediately notice that it is real chicken breast. They also carry some of the best lo mein I ever tried, along with big and juicy fried dumplings. For $30 I feel as if we ordered the entire menu and we always have so much more left over. I have never eaten inside, I only get take out so I cant comment on the service but the quality of the food for a Chinese take out place is an A.

this place is the best! I lived in NJ, NYC all my life and have been to quite a few Chinese restaurants, but WANFU is the absolute best Chinese food i have ever eaten! Everything on the menu is delicious..the wait staff is friendly, professional and my favorite server is Connie. So, ask for her when you are seated......the best!

My second review for this place. The first was very good, now... not so much. Appears to be a management change, food was hit or miss the other day. We mentioned it to the Manager and his attitude and answer was less than satisfying. I've recommended this place for years but I think it's time to find a new Chinese restaurant close to home. Food wasn't ALL bad, just a couple of dishes, maybe a bad night for the chief but the manager is the reason I likely won't be back.

This place is disgusting. I bought wonton and egg rolls to go. I had an unpleasant surprise, I found HAIR in both. I don't recommend this place.

A Chinese restaurant with a Korean menu. Didn't even bother with the Chinese, went right for a huge bowl of spicy noodle soup. Flippin fantastic!

As a child growing up in S. Florida Wanfu was a regular stop for our Chinese food. Interestingly we knew the owner who happened to be a Korean named Larry and introduced me to one of my favorite foods Korean short ribs. My favorite dish back than used to be beef with plum sauce, so having not been here in 5 years and hearing Larry sold the place I was real curious to see how the place was doing. Even the restaurant and decorations look the same, the food is not. I ordered the beef with plum sauce and it has some of the flavor I remembered, but I could clearly tell they watered down the flavor with corn starch. I have a feeling they took something that was not broken and tried to fix the profit margin, it shows in the food how sad!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
